Blind Chef Wins Dessert Award

This inspiring story is about Gabrielle Lozano, who has been blind since she was four. Regardless of her disabilities, her ambition has always been to become a chef.

She uses braille recipes to do her baking, and operates the stove burners or the ovens in her home using small foam dots on the stove’s control panel. Overcoming all the odds, she was accepted into MTI’s culinary school to become it’s first blind student.

What’s more, a dessert she created, ‘Messy Munchies’, made with Cheerios, pretzels, peanuts, chex mix and peanut M&M’s, won best in show at the Manatee County Fair. Have you ever thought that making dessert was too tough for you? Click the link below to read this inspiring dessert story:
